The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes' Division of Fish, Wildlife, Recreation, and Conservation originally released Fire on the Land as an interactive, Flash-based DVD in 2006. With funding from the CSKT Department of Education, the project was converted from Flash to a web-based learning tool in 2021.
