The interactive map at the heart of this website presents a range of topics, from the river’s geology to canyon wrens and westslope cutthroat trout and from the history of Kerr Dam to the Pablo/Allard bison herds that once grazed the floodplain. Using photos, charts, essays, and videos, students and teachers can learn all about the river in preparation for the Tribes’ Annual River Honoring. The lesson plans include a variety of activities, from an exploration of real world management dilemmas to learning about what makes a river healthy. There are is also a track guide and a plant guide, and using the career guide, students can explore opportunities for a career in natural resource management. Finally, the three documentaries examine the fascinating and complex history of this magnificent river.
